The Group increased its Topgrow investment to 70%. Topgrow in turn formed a new 100%-owned subsidiary, incorporated in Dongguan, Southern China, called Dongguan Hui Zhan Electronic Limited. The new Chinese company operates from a large, purpose built premises, which has greatly expanded capacity for supplying the PCB industry in Southern China.


Screen Circuit GmbH was merged with HT Cimatec GmbH. The German and Dutch operations were restructured and HT Cimatec GMBH became Holders Technology GMBH.


The group increased its Topgrow investment to 60%.


The Group invested 35% in Topgrow, Hong Kong. Topgrow focuses selling into the PCB industry in Southern China.

To develop opportunities within the printed circuit board materials sector, in June 2003, Holders Technology plc sold its stake in the Telecommunications Services company Justfone Limited. The group also acquired a competitor company, Screen Circuit BV and its German subsidiary.


Holders acquired the business and assets of Cimatec GMBH materials division. The acquired business, which is based near Frankfurt in Germany, traded as HT Cimatec GmbH and has subsequently changed its name to Holders Technology GmbH.


Holders Technology plc transferred its listing from the main market to Aim, as the Directors believed that Aim is more suitable for a company of Holders’ size.


The UK company began development of niche applications for SMS and WAP technologies and, in April 2000, these activities were incorporated in a new subsidiary called Justfone Limited.


The UK trading operations were transferred to a newly formed subsidiary, Holders Technology UK Limited. At the same time, the role of Holders Technology plc became that of holding investments in subsidiary companies and properties and acting as the group funding company.


The Group acquired the Swedish company, Arlotech AB and its wholly owned subsidiary, Folke Nilsson Elektronik AB. These operations now form part of Holders Technology AB, which supplies Holders Technology’s products in Scandinavia.


The Group acquired a business in Holland (now called Holders Technology BV) which acted as a distributor covering the Benelux region.


Holders Technology plc was floated on the Unlisted Securities Market (USM). Also in 1988, the Group established a distribution company in Germany.


The UK facility was moved from Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, to Galashiels, Scotland, in what was then the heart of the European PCB industry.


The Company was founded by Rudi Weinreich, Executive Chairman, to market high speed motors and control equipment to the UK electronics and engineering industries.
